British Science Week
In celebration of British Science week, 6th - 15th March, the Science Department at St Angela’s held some fun activities during lunchtime.
On Thursday 12th March students were able to participate in creating their own rockets, which were then launched in the Merici court. The atmosphere was reminiscent of a real live rocket launch with a countdown and some hilarious results. Students were given an opportunity to improve their designs resulting in some excellent high flying rockets.
On Friday 13th March the Science department held a live science show, with methane bubbles, screaming jelly babies and whoosh bottles. The science of Ice cream was also explored, with students being given the opportunity to create their own edible ice cream.
The Key objective of Science Week was to inspire young people to take up careers in areas of Science and to encourage wider thinking and application of Science in everyday life.
