Key Stage 4 Science
GCSE Double Science
Year 10
Year 10 consists of six modules that are tested in year 10 and contribute 25% of the total mark at GCSE. These modules are: Electricity Energy Earth Materials - this unit involves a trip to the Earth Galleries at the Natural History Museum Metals Humans as Organisms Maintenance of Life
The girls will also complete 3 pieces of coursework, one from each of Biology, Chemistry and Physics. These pieces of coursework take the form of investigations similar to those already encountered in Key Stage 3. Together the coursework adds up to another 25% of the final mark.
Year 11
Year 11 involves six more units, all of which are tested in the terminal exam at the end of year 11. These units are: Waves and Radiation Forces Environment Inheritance and Selection Patterns of Chemical Change Structures and Bonding
