Opening hours
The TLC is open 8am-5pm Monday to Thursday
and 8am-4pm on Friday.
Staff
The TLC currently has three members of staff: Mrs J Bacon is the full-time Librarian who is assisted by two part-time Library Assistants.
TLC staff are available to help students with research or to help and advise on reading choices. We also have student library monitors who volunteer to work in the TLC.

Printing and Photocopying
We have monochrome and colour laser printers, which can be used for printing schoolwork. During lessons, black and white printing is free and is charged at 5p per page at other times. There is a charge for the colour laser printer at all times. Photocopying facilities are also available for a small charge.

Computers
The TLC is well stocked with 22 networked desktop PCs in the computer suite; in addition we also have 60 wireless laptops which are available for use by classes and students for schoolwork. Students need to get a consent form signed by a parent or legal guardian before they can use the laptops.
TLC Resources
As well as a large collection of over 15,000 books the TLC has a good selection of periodicals and newspapers. In addition to the wide range of fiction books we also have an extensive collection of non-fiction. There is a comfortable soft-seating area, which is very popular for reading during breaks.
There is also a growing collection of DVDs relevant to the curriculum that students can borrow. We have a 65-inch plasma screen available for watching DVDs, European language channels as well as keeping students updated with relevant messages. Classical music is said to aid with studies and we play a selection during the school day.
Homework Club
The Homework Club runs Monday to Thursday 3.25-4.30pm. It is held in the TLC where the girls have use of all the library books and the computer suite with access to the Internet to help them with their work.
Teachers, as well as TLC staff, are there to help the students with any difficulties they may have with their homework. Students have to sign the register when they arrive, this helps us to check how many are attending and on those who need to catch up on their work. Classical music is played in the background to help the students relax and concentrate on what they are doing.

Chess Club
A chess club operates in the TLC every Monday 3.25-4.30pm.
