Since gaining Specialist School status there have been significant changes in the school. St. Angela’s not only offers a firm and clear faith-based ethos for your daughter’s education, but also the highest quality academic provision which is recognised in its status as a Technology College and a Beacon School.

Technology College status  was first awarded to St. Angela’s in April 1995. Our industrial sponsors are a local food processing company, Pura Foods.

As a school with this status and in the light of our mission statement St. Angela’s aim to: -

  • develop a technological culture throughout the school
  • raise standards and expectations in Design and Technology, Mathematics, Science and Information Communications Technology
  • ICT for all students
  • explore the opportunities for providing suitable progression pathways in KS4 and Post16
  • explore where industry and commerce can support the curriculum
  • develop links with the wider community and our family of schools
  • ensure all staff have access to the necessary training to improve pupil learning.
  • Our ICT facilities include a network of 300+ PC’s all accessing the Internet, 42 interactive whiteboards and a Cisco Networking Academy Program for post-16 and community students
  • A completely refurbished Design & Technology suite
  • Increased teaching time for Science, Design & Technology and ICT which has led to the provision of Double Science (and in some cases Triple Science), Design & Technology and GNVQ Intermediate or GCSE ICT for all students
