St. Angela’s and St. Bonaventure’s Sixth Form Centre is the joint sixth form provision of two 11-18 schools. We have grown considerably in student numbers from approximately 500 in 2001 to over 750 in 2007. We have focused on sixth form improvement as a key priority in the development plans of both our schools and have seen results increase substantially and progression rates to university of over 90%. Our view that the centre is outstanding was endosed by two Ofsted inspections in December 2005 (St. Angela’s) and February 2006 (St. Bonaventure’s). Following these inspections we felt we had a story to share about sixth form improvement and as a result decided to host a sharing good practice conference in June 2006.
