Welcome to the RE Department

Religious Education is a fundamental part of all girls’ time at St. Angela’s, both within and outside the curriculum timetable.  As an academic subject RE enables students to develop their opinions, beliefs and thinking skills. In addition to this RE provides the unique opportunity to enhance pupils’ spirituality and relationship with themselves, their peers and in the long term their social interaction outside of school life.

Outside of curriculum time girls are given the opportunity to participate in Retreats, Liturgies and Prayer Groups. Students have responded with enthusiasm and willingness to partake in these activities.

This site will enlighten and enable you to discover the department; the syllabus for Key Stages 3, 4 & 5; read personal experiences of students on Retreat and develop your knowledge of Religious Education at St. Angela’s.

The RE department consists of six qualified and dedicated teachers. As you would expect each teacher has their own experiences, training and teaching styles. However, that is what makes the RE department so diverse, energetic and dynamic!

Mr McCarthy- Acting Head of Department

Mrs Gilmore- Head of Year 10

Ms Mulroy- Deputy Head

Mrs Burke- Head of Year 9

Miss McHugh - RE teacher

Miss Harris - RE teacher
