The music department has specialist facilities, which include two practice rooms and a music technology room.  The department has a number of computers, an interactive white board and a good range of keyboards.

There are two specialist music teachers and a music technician as well as a number of peripatetic staff who give instrumental lessons. Lessons are available on 10 different  instruments.

KS3

All pupils have one hour a week for their music lesson as well as having the opportunity to take parting school choirs and the orchestra

KS4

Music is available as an option in Year 10 and 11

GCSE Music   examined by Edexcel   www.edexcel.org.uk

KS5

AS and A2 Music is offered in the sixth form and is examined by OCRwww.ocr.org.uk

Overseas Visits

Musical Life at St Angela’s

As well as music lessons within the curriculum and specialist individual tuition there are a number of opportunities for pupils to express themselves through music and song.

The school choir, which numbers 50 pupils, perform regularly at school liturgies and concerts.

There are different ensembles, string and brass, a string quartet as well as the main school orchestra

There is an annual overseas music visit. In the last few years the choir and players have travelled widely,
