Mock Trial Competition

A number of Vi Formers successfully competed in the National Mock Trial competition held at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Saturday 27th November.  They had prepared themselves very well and were individually complimented by the presiding judges.  The preparation included discussing procedure, etiquette and techniques with a visiting barrister, and watching a real trial at court. Students took the part of counsel for defence and prosecution, witnesses, jury usher and court clerk. There was also a court reporter and press officer who

participated in the competition. Next year we hope to compete again and, hopefully, get to the finals.

The mock trial team: Vitalis Anyaegbu, David Aubrey, Saad Butt, Antonia Canal, Chris Canal, James Courtney-Baines, Richard Djan, Kyla Frye, Sean Grant, Chenai Mautsi, Lauren Nott, Innocent Opara, Melizza Piedad, Stephanie Sanchez, Dorejd Sukaj, Amifa Tholley, Kinawa Williams

Envisions

By: Jade Sullivan  12 Elliot

‘Envisions’ is an organisation that encourages the Sixth Form to become more socially aware of what is going on around them in regards to how we can make our Sixth Form community a better place to work in. Some of our work is charity based, and our first project involves us raising money to buy toys for Newham General Hospital’s children ward (at Christmas). So far we have organised a table tennis tournament, sponsored swims, raffles and a food festival. Our group is quite small, so new members are very welcome to join our meetings every Monday lunchtime at 12:45, AB2.

Sixth Form

Badminton

Nobody played badminton in the Sixth Form until this year when Deborah Wong and other students set up a badminton club assisted by Mr McCormack and Mr Bastian. The club runs on Wednesday lunchtimes using the Sports Hall facilities at the St Bonaventure’s site. It runs on a first come, first served basis (no pun intended!) and anyone is welcome to come along.
