	There are seven teachers in the modern foreign languages department and between them they come from five different countries. Every year there are student teachers from France and Germany who spend part of their course at St Angela’s and work with groups of students. The department organises many visits to France and Germany so that pupils’ can listen, speak and experience the cultures of the different countries The department has its own suite of rooms with two interactive white boards and a number of PCs *In Years 7 – 9 pupils can study French and German* *At KS4 GCSE is available in both languages and at KS5 Spanish is also taught* *AT KS5 languages and opportunities provided*

FRENCH, AND GERMAN

The courses aim to develop students' ability to use foreign language in practical, everyday situations. The linguistic skills which students develop prepare them, should they choose, for further study up to A/AS level in the Sixth Form.
