BuiltWithNOF

The overall aim of the innovatory aspects of our programme is to extend teacher and pupil capacity both within St Angela’s and with our partner schools; that is the capacity to teach more effectively and the capacity to learn more efficiently.

There are currently three programmes that are being shared with our partner schools

Accelerated Learning

Cognitive Coaching

Collaborative network for ICT

The first two programmes emerged from our definition of professional best practice, which is underpinned by school-based evidence. Both have, in our opinion, high leverage.  The third programme was a response to a jointly perceived need within our network but will also contain elements of innovation as well as incremental improvement.

ACCELERATED LEARNING

Accelerated Learning began in St Angela’s in 1998 out of a desire to stretch ourselves as teachers and learners from good to great.

Its application and development from small beginnings means that we now apply our knowledge of neuroscience to all learning, of both students and staff. Key people and change agents were identified and trained and work was disseminated to middle managers, all staff and students, but we needed to ensure that the cadre of staff who were both change agents, practitioners and sources of research was extended.

Objectives

Increase the capacity of St Angela’s staff in Accelerated Learning for work within school and with partner schools.

Facilitate partner schools to become Accelerated Learning Schools.
